Will Your Emergency Lights and Lighting Work WhenYou Need Them?

 

Emergency lights and emergerncy lighting provides lighting in corridors, stairwells, ramps, escalators, aisles, and exit passageways during power outages. If your emergency lights fail to operate properly, the building occupants can become disoriented.

 At Robertson Fire Protection we stock Brooks Equipment Emergency lights with design in a neutral finish of injection molded, flame retardant, high impact, thermoplastic housing. Features include universal mounting with "EZ" quick connect, push-to-test switch, solid-state charger, low voltage disconnect and power-on LED indicator light. Standard with 2 fully adjustable, glare-free lighting heads. Universal voltage 120/277VAC operation. BELR2 has remote capabilities up to 10 lamp watts. UL and ETL listed. As well as Exit signs that are flame retardant with high-impact, thermoplastic housings. Features a solid-state charger, universal mounting, test button, low voltage disconnect, LED indicator, replaceable pop-out arrows, and 120/277VAC operation. 10-year warranty on LED signs and 5-year warranty on incandescent signs.

Routine maintenance of emergency lights and emergency lighting is frequently overlooked until and emergency occurs--and then its too late. Regular maintenance is required by NFPA Standard No. 101 Life Safety Code. A functional test shall be conducted on every required emergency lighting system at 30-day intervals for a minimum of 30 seconds. An annual test shall be conducted for the 1 1/2 hour duration. Equipment shall be fully operational for the duration of the test. Testing Procedures for Emergency Lights

  • 90 Minute full function test
  • Disconnect AC power supply to each emergency light
  • Check battery and lens for sulfation
  • Clean each emergency light and lens as required
  • Adjust beam for proper alignment
  • Place Testing Label on the emergency light and Record in Testing Log
  • Troubleshooting/repair may also include
    • Checking and adjusting charging system voltage
    • Checking battery output voltage
    • Check line voltage to remote fixtures
